Most leaders, entrepreneurs, and facilitators are afraid to slow down, drop their masks, and be honest—they’re afraid to show their humanness because they believe that doing so will cause them to lose their credibility.
So, instead, they continue to stand high on their pedestals, wear masks, and preach to their followers while keeping themselves at a “safe” distance.
The secrets of their lives beyond the screen are held tightly because they fear being seen as imposters or frauds.
They hide their trauma so profoundly that even they have become unconscious of the presence of their wounding, dismissing themselves as a way to maintain their perceived authority.
But when the cameras are off and there’s no one around… their struggle resurfaces.
The frustration, the grief, the anger, the sadness, the loneliness, the confusion, the feeling of desperation and purposelessness… It all comes to the surface because no matter how well their trauma is hidden, it’s still present within them.
They may have the following, accolades, and external success, but is that all a performance?
Do they feel free to express their truth?
Do they feel safe to be who they are?
Do they trust themselves?
Or are they denying themselves the gift of their humanity?
As a seasoned leader, entrepreneur, and facilitator, I understand the challenges of being visible in our overly digitalized world, where people quickly cancel, shame, and blame one another. I also understand the challenges of building a purposeful and sustainable business.
One thing that I can say for certain is that wearing masks will eventually lead to suffocation.
In a world where anyone can claim to be anything—a world thick with illusion, manipulation, and performances—the truth will always rise to the surface.
Perfection may be aspirational but is not relatable.
Being REAL is relatable.
If you are a leader, entrepreneur, facilitator, or anyone with a platform, following, or audience, I invite you to show up with your humanity.
Instead of standing on pedestals, humble yourself enough to hold compassion for the human within you.
Instead of wearing masks, get to know who you are and let yourself be seen.
Instead of preaching to others, start teaching yourself to feel safe and trust your truth.
And know this…
Your humanity matters more than your popularity.
Your humanity matters more than the algorithm.
Your humanity matters more than your follower count.
Your humanity matters more than your hustle.
Your humanity matters more than the speed at which you scale your business.
Your humanity matters more than your branding and marketing.
Your humanity matters more than your certifications.
Your humanity matters more than your title or perfectly crafted IG bio.
Your humanity matters more than 10x-ing your income.
Being human matters; that is why it’s essential to face your shadows, heal your trauma, and integrate all aspects of who you are so you can lead with your truth.
It’s no secret that our world is hurting right now; so much of this collective pain stems from the loss of our humanity. If you’re here to serve, ensure you’re doing so with integrity—focus on serving others instead of serving your ego. Reclaim the human within you and lead with your humanity, not your trauma.
Your humanity matters.
